Terms & Conditions

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

1: GENERAL

Collecting and Returning the Motorhome

If possible, try not to start your holiday on the same day you collect your vehicle.
We need to show you exactly how to get the most out of your motorhome and this may take some
time. It is essential that you, as the hirer, should be given a thorough introduction to the rental
vehicle by our team before the journey begins.

Please allow up to 1 hour for your handover. Since the times for collecting and returning
motorhomes are carefully planned, please arrive at your collection appointment on time and return
your vehicle on time.

Collection times are between 12.00 – 15.00, unless agreed otherwise.

Return time is at 10.00 hours the morning after your final night.

Should your vehicle be returned to us later than 10.00, and unless agreed otherwise with us, there
will be a penalty of £100.00 per hour.

Should the late return of the vehicle make us liable for extra costs (e.g. compensation for the next
hirer), we reserve the right to pass on these costs to you.

Please return your vehicle on time.

Bed linen/ Kitchen Equipment

We provide fitted sheets for any fixed beds on our vehicles. Please ensure you bring additional
bedding such as pillows, duvets, blankets, towels etc.

You MUST cover our upholstery; failure to do so may result in a dry-cleaning charge.

We provide standard equipment such as outdoor chairs & table, electricity hook up cable, 1 X LPG
gas bottle and a hosepipe. Your motor home will include all crockery and other kitchen equipment

Documentation

You are required to bring the following documentation to your collection appointment.
• Driving License
• 2 x Proof of address from the below list dated within the past 90 days

No vehicles will be released without the above mandatory documentation.

2. DRIVING LICENCES

No one other than the drivers named on the insurance proposal form may
drive the hired vehicle. All drivers must sign the terms and conditions prior to the release of any
vehicles.

Drivers must be over 25 and under 75 years of age and have held a full driving license for at least 3
years.

Your driving license must not have expired or be in the process of renewal and all information must
be up to date and correct. Please contact us prior to attending if there are any queries with this.

Driving licenses must be unendorsed (with the exception of speeding offences) and your physical
license must be produced at the time of collecting the vehicle.

Please see the below table for endorsements that are deemed acceptable. Please note that a driving
license endorsement check will be conducted on the day of collection.

No refund will be given to any hirer that attends to collect a vehicle without their physical driving
license or with endorsements that are outside of the below parameters. It is your responsibility to
check.

Visitors from abroad must hold a current international driving permit or license (Foreign license
holders will incur an additional insurance premium charge and a security bond payment is required).

Any current endorsements (within 3 years) may incur an additional insurance premium charge.

3. SECURITY DEPOSIT & INSURANCE

A £1,000 security deposit is required for all motorhome hires. Festival hires require a deposit of
£1,500. This deposit serves two purposes:

It acts as the insurance excess in the event of any damage, loss, or incident involving the vehicle
during the hire period.

It covers the cost of any damage, additional cleaning, fuel discrepancies, or other charges incurred
during your hire that are not included in the rental fee.

This deposit is pre-authorised on your payment card shortly before the start of your hire. We are
only authorised to hold these funds for a maximum of 14 days, after which the pre-authorisation will
be automatically released if no deductions are required.
We strongly recommend using a credit card for this transaction. Some banks—especially with debit
cards—may take longer to release the funds back to your account. Please note, we have no control
over your bank’s processing times, and we do not have the ability to release the funds early once the
pre-authorisation has been made.

4. BOOKING DETAILS

A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable at time of booking.

The final hire balance AND Security Deposit of £1000 MUST be paid on/prior to the collection of the
vehicle.

5. BREAKDOWNS

In the unlikely event of a breakdown, Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire requests they are
contacted immediately and when advised to do so, the hirer seeks the help of our registered
breakdown company only, quoting the registration number of the vehicle.

Hirers are authorised to request repairs up to the value of £50. Repairs costing in excess of £50 must
first be authorised by Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire PRIOR to the work being undertaken.

Every effort will be made to ensure your vehicle is repaired and back on the road as soon as possible.
At our discretion, we may refund you per day lost of your holiday pro rata, however no further losses
will be compensated.

Should the vehicle be unrepairable on site, the breakdown recovery vehicle will recover both the
motorhome and all passengers back to our premises. The daily rate will then be refunded, however
should you decide to carry on with your trip no further compensation will be due.

We may be able to offer you an alternative vehicle to continue your trip.

6. THE HIRER AGREES THAT THEY

a) Shall not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle or allow the vehicle
to be overloaded.

b) Shall not have any more occupants sleeping than designed for (i.e.) 2 x Adults and 4
x Children or 4 x Adults maximum

c) Shall not use the vehicle for carrying passengers or goods for hire or reward

d) Will be responsible to Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire for the cost of making good
any damage caused to the vehicle caused by improper use.

e) Is responsible for any fines (including parking fines) which maybe incurred
during the hire period.

f) Shall not, without consent from Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire, remove the vehicle
out of the UK mainland.

g)Understands that no claim by the hirer for loss or damage to personal belongings or
effects of the hirer or any person or persons will be considered.

h)Understands that any damage to the interior of the vehicle (including cigarette burns) living
or cooking equipment will be charged to the hirer in all cases and is not insurable.

7. PERIOD OF HIRE

The times and dates of the contract of hire must be strictly adhered to.

No refund will be given for early return of your vehicle.

 

8. CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations must be in writing or emailed to info@jepsonsholidays.co.uk

All deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferable, at our discretion.

Short notice cancellations are difficult to advertise and accommodate, therefore any cancellations
within two weeks of the hirer’s departure date will be charged in full.

Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire reserves the right to cancel hire if, at
the commencement of hire, the driver’s licences are invalid or not according to the conditions set
out above. In these circumstances the total hire charge will be forfeited.

Hirers are strongly advised to insure against unavoidable cancellation.

9. LIABILITIES

 

The hirer is responsible for all costs and expenses incurred as a result of offences against the Road
Traffic Act. The hirer is also liable for any uninsurable damages including tyres, windscreen and any
internal damages or breakages. The hirer will indemnify Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire from
any liability.

Toll charges must be paid in full at time of journey or a fine of £50 each way is
applied by the EFLOW Toll company or counterparts in Europe. We will add credit card charges and
an administration fee to process. Customers using tolls in the EU and ROI must bring Jepson’s Ribble
Valley Motorhome Hire a receipt of payment of tolls before security deposit is refunded. This the

sole responsibility of the hirer. Failure to provide receipt evidence may result in a portion of the
deposit to be held for a further 3 months

10. ANIMALS

All animals, other than guide dogs, must be approved by Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire at
the time of booking. If approved, all damage howsoever caused by the animals, will be charged to
the hirer in full including a cleaning charge.

11. PARKING

The hirer may park, free of charge and at their own risk, one car at the collection location for the
period of the hire. Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome hire are not responsible for any damage to
your vehicle while left on site.

12. PENALTIES AND FURTHER COSTS

13. ADDITIONAL

Hirers will be charged immediately for any penalties incurred.

Fresh water tanks must be kept topped up- if left to run dry the system will need bled & may be
damaged.

Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire reserve the right to impose a valet penalty if the vehicle is
returned in a condition unsuitable for habitation. Please return your motor home in the same
condition you collect it.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all our motorhomes. If the hirer is suspected to have been smoking
in the vehicle, a £250 penalty will be applied.

Hirer authorises that their credit card maybe charged for damages, penalties, parking, driving
offences and the insurance excess payable.

We also reserve the right to charge for loss of hire due to repairs caused during your hire at £200.00
per day, to be taken from the deposit. Please also note if we must obtain quotes for damage caused
to the vehicle during your hire period, your security deposit refund maybe delayed.

We ask that you notify us at the earliest possible opportunity of any damages as there are often
lengthy waits for motorhome parts and this will allow us to pre-order parts before the return of your
vehicle.

Jepson’s Ribble Valley Motorhome Hire reserve the right to vary the rates and conditions of hire at
any time and to decline hire to any person at any time without reason, this includes the right to
change vehicles when necessary.

Vehicle keys must be kept on the hirer at all times to comply with our insurance policy.
Minimum hire period is 3 days unless otherwise agreed
